So having found myself in my mid-50's wearing Trespass walking trainers 95% of the time, I feel the need to inject a bit more style in to my choice of shoe.
When I say style, I'm still talking something that goes with t-shirt and jeans, not too dressy. Also I don't like white trainers or tan shoes.
Quite like the look of some of the plainer Loci trainers, which is what Google was touting when I searched.
What else is there? Appreciate this is all a matter of opinion.

plain black or brown trainers with a white sole are what most 'stylish' older men seem to wear. something like this:

I don't like the white sole rim thing. One of my shoe foibles...

If you're going down the skate shoe route then DC, Nike SB, or New Balance.

Loak make nice shoes and boots. Dr Martin dealer boots are easy to slip on, comfirtabke, and still stylish - and come in plenty of colours.
Converse, though their soles are like paper…. You feel very pebble underfoot.
I rarely wear trainers….much prefer a nice pair of boots.

Adidas or New Balance for trainers. I like Chelsea boots with jeans too - Anatomic and Barbour (Farsley) are super-comfy. I preferred the Barbours to trainers when walking the length and breadth of New York for a week last year.

I’d second the shouts for New Balance as a good casual trainer. If we are talking about the retro styled ones.
Or for a less common variation on a similar theme a classic Saucony.
https://www.saucony.com/UK/en_GB/jazz-original/11842M.html
Or Nike

Or a bit more pricey Onitsuka Tiger
